Emergency Appeal – Hurricane Melissa

ADRA-UK  calls upon you, our supporters, to help us respond to the Hurricane Melissa disaster described as ‘the storm of the century’.

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency UK (ADRA-UK) has launched an urgent fundraising appeal to support communities devastated by Hurricane Melissa across Jamaica and neighbouring countries.

Entire towns lie in ruins, families are displaced, and vital infrastructure is destroyed. The destruction is devastating. Imagine everything you’ve spent years to build, your home your belongings, now swept away in the current of the rain and storm.

Every donation will provide food, water, shelter, and hope to those facing unimaginable loss. ADRA Jamaica is on the ground coordinating the response and providing humanitarian assistance to the hardest hit communities in  Jamaica.

ADRA-UK has set up an emergency appeal to help to support the communities most affected by the hurricane.

ADRA teams are already on the ground delivering emergency aid — but they need your help. Please stand with the Caribbean in their hour of need.

Together, we can rebuild lives.

In Jamaica, we’re seeing widespread damage, communities that remain hard to reach, and power outages in several areas. Even the airport was forced to close temporarily. Before the storm made landfall, our team prepared 800 food kits for children and families in need, ensuring we could respond quickly once it passed. We’re now assessing the situation and coordinating with partners to deliver help where it’s most needed. Please continue to keep families who have lost so much in your thoughts and prayers.”
