Around 9:00 AM on Wednesday, 26 August 2026 a sudden, high-volume flood surged down
the Bhote Koshi River from the Tibetan side into Rasuwa.
As of September 1st , At least 987 people have lost their lives, hundreds remain missing and more than 90,000 people are estimated to have been affected. With roads, bridges and communications destroyed, the full scale of the disaster is still emerging.
ADRA is on the ground in Nepal , providing shelter kits to families who have lost their homes in the floods. The emergency teams are working closely with local authorities and other responding agencies to coordinate critical releif efforts for affected familes. This includes providing food, water, personal hygiene kits and temporary shelter in the flood-affected settlements of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts (Bhotekoshi/Trishuli corridor), Bagmati Province.
